This Privacy Policy explains how TeraiFarms collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit teraifarms.in, place an order, or contact us. We are an Indian food business and we handle your data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
TeraiFarms is a brand of Uttar Pradesh Agro Heritage, a registered partnership firm ("TeraiFarms", "we", "us", "our"). Our registered office is at Town Area Ward No. 5, Unwal Bazar, Kasba Sangrampur, Khajni Tahsil, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh 273406. By using our website or buying from us, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What data we collect
We collect only what we need to take your order, deliver it, and support you. This includes:
- Order & contact details you give us at checkout or over WhatsApp — your name, delivery address, phone number and email address.
- Order history — the products you bought, order value, invoice and GST details, and any notes you add to an order.
- Communications — messages, photos and details you send us on WhatsApp, email or our contact form (for example, a photo of a damaged pack for a replacement claim).
- Payment confirmation data — the fact and status of a payment. We do not collect or store your card number, UPI PIN, CVV or bank credentials (see Section 4).
- Website usage & analytics data — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and cookie identifiers, collected to understand and improve the site.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. Our products are sold to adults.
2. How we use your data
We use your personal data only for specified, lawful purposes:
- To process, pack, ship and deliver your order, and to raise a GST-compliant invoice.
- To keep you updated about your order — confirmation, dispatch, tracking and delivery.
- To respond to your questions, quality claims, refunds and replacements.
- To send you updates about new harvests, restocks or offers only if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.
- To improve our website, products and service, and to keep the site secure and prevent fraud.
- To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations as a food business in India.
3. Consent and your choices
We ask for your data with a clear purpose, and we rely on your consent (or on the need to fulfil your order and our legal duties) as the basis for processing. Marketing messages are sent only with your consent, and every such message gives you a way to opt out. Withdrawing consent for marketing does not affect our ability to complete orders you have already placed or to meet legal requirements.
4. Payments — handled by Razorpay
Online payments on teraifarms.in are processed by our payment gateway partner, Razorpay. When you pay, your card, UPI, net-banking or wallet details are entered on Razorpay's secure, PCI-DSS-compliant systems, not on ours. TeraiFarms never sees or stores your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or banking passwords. We receive only a confirmation of whether the payment succeeded, along with a payment reference. Razorpay's own privacy terms govern how they handle your payment data.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used (for example, through analytics tools). You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work, such as checkout.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with partners who help us run the business, and only to the extent needed:
| Partner type | Why we share | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Payment gateway (Razorpay) | To process your payment | Payment amount and reference; payment details you enter directly with them |
| Courier & logistics (e.g. Shiprocket and its partner couriers) | To deliver your order | Name, delivery address, phone number, order weight |
| Communication & messaging tools | To send order updates over email / WhatsApp | Name, contact number, email, order status |
| Analytics providers | To measure and improve the site | Anonymised or pseudonymised usage data |
| Government / tax authorities | When required by law | Invoice and tax data as legally mandated |
We require our partners to protect your data and to use it only for the service they provide to us.
7. Data retention
We keep your order and invoice records for as long as required under Indian tax, GST and company law (currently up to eight years for financial records). Contact and marketing data is kept only while your relationship with us is active or until you withdraw consent, after which it is deleted or anonymised, unless we must retain it to meet a legal obligation.
8. How we protect your data
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, including secure connections (HTTPS), access controls, and trusted, security-certified partners for payments and logistics. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit who can access it.
9. Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it.
- Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, and updating of your details.
- Erasure of your personal data where it is no longer needed and no law requires us to keep it.
- Withdraw consent at any time for processing that is based on your consent, such as marketing.
- Grievance redressal — to raise a complaint about how your data is handled (see Section 10).
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@teraifarms.in. We will verify your request and respond within a reasonable time.
